We're Nearing the End......

Hi Gang,

For this week's blog, I'd like you to consider your current grades, your goals for the future, and your plans for achieving those goals.  (That was really nice of me, I just gave you the three body paragraphs you'll need.. see how that works?)  This does mean that you need a well developed blog response of at least five paragraphs. (Be sure to use an introduction and a conclusion.)  Answer the following questions thoroughly by 3 PM on Friday 4/19 and be sure to sign your name at the end.

What are your goals for life following graduation?  Will your current grades help you reach those goals? What, other than grades will help you achieve these short- and long-term goals?  Think about this one and please write a well considered essay.

Every one has goals. Some are long term and some are short term. I like to follow long term goals but in reality , and long term goal is over and done with in a shorter time then you think.

I normally set goals for grades and other things like work hours or even just hobbie dead lines. With school 10 weeks is normally the set time for my goals. It gives me 10 weeks to get my grades up and keep them up. And 10 weeks isnt a very long time at all when you get to the end of the set date of the goal.

My grades now could be much better but arent bad at all. I think I will get really good grades this quarter because its my last one being in 11th grade. I really don’t want to be a senior next year because then after that it the real world. And a year goes way to fast.

After school I don’t think I will go to college , I think ill work. I will try to get a good cdl in my boces program this last quarter and my senior year as well. If all else fails in the job world I will go to collage for a 2 year degree in heavy equipment

    3. Jon, I like your goals and that you already have a battle plan and a backup plan. I too am trying to get my grades up and keep them up. I think that you have a good thing going for you and I hope that all goes well for you. So good luck to you and have fun with it.

    4. Jon, I like the fact that you have a plan in case all else fails. It is a very good idea to always have a backup because you never know if things wont work out. Personally I think you will be able to go out in the work force and make something of yourself. You are a very hands on person and that is what makes you, you. Just keep your head up and try your hardest and you will without a doubt make something of yourself.

  2. I have a idea on what I wanna do with my life after graduation. I just wanna go out into the working field. There will be no college for me.

My goal in life following graduation is going out into the working field. I wanna be a heavy equipment operator. I have wanted to do this since I was a little boy. I also wanna own my own logging business. After I get my own logging company I wanna settle down and start a family. Get married have a kid or two just the simple life. For my short term goals I wanna get my grades up. My English grade could be higher. I'm gonna work my butt of this next 10 weeks to get that grade way higher

My current grades will help me reach my goals. For what I wanna do for the rest of my life I just need to graduate high school. Yea I think my grades could be better but for what they are now they are good enough to reach my goals.

My good work ethic will also help me achieve these goal. I also get along with others which is a big plus on trying to find a job. I'm a hard worker which also helps. I also take orders very well.

I have more long term goals then short term. I think just short term goals just is a wast of time. I'm gonna do pretty good with what I have now to achieve these goals.

    1. Hey Jon,
You did a really good job answering all of these questions thoroughly. I just cringed each time I read, "wanna" or "gonna". I know my spell check was turned off for state tests so you get a pass on those, but please remember the words are "want to" and "going to". You will be successful, of that I am sure!

  3. After graduation I would like to proceed on going to school, as much as I hate it it's worth it in the long run. If college doesn't work out for me or sports I would like to get into either coaching or military mabey even both after serving a term in the military become a coach. To be completely honest I'm like any other teenager I just wanna have fun why stress over something if its ment to be it will happen if not then so be it.

Will my grades reflect me going to college of coarse I believe if you are a athlete and you want to proceed in that career, but grades as far as military and coaching I'm not really sure grades matter as much mabey depending on what you want to do.

My main gaol would be to go to college but my grades really don't show it I mean my work ethic does as far as training, but you have to have both grades and work ethic and even with that not everyone makes it its just the way it is that why I looked in to plan B and plan C.

  4. I have some ideas of what I would like to do after high school. I would like to attended college for auto mechanics. Then I would like to open my own.

I think if I get my grades up an keep them up I could get into college. If I went to college I would like to play football or wrestle. I think if I anything for football I would go to that college because I love football.

I'm pretty sure if they had a class that was all all hands on, all mostly everyone would take it because it is fun to mess around with tools and power tools. I like to work outside if they also had a class like that, I think it would be fun because its better to work outside and you can enjoy the fresh air and the nice weather.

I think if I can get a job this summer at a shop or just any job it would help me out so I can work and get money to help pay for college or even books for college. I would like to get a job at a shop so it looks better for college.

I not to sure how much I will like to be in the real world but its a big jump not many people are going to be ready for it,but many are. It's going to be weird not waking up for high school or even seeing some of the teachers that you like. I'm pretty sure people will stay in Deposit but many will leave.

  5. I have many goals for my life before and after graduation. My current grades will and will not help me achieve these goals. What I mean is that I have different grades for every class I take. There are many other things that will help me achieve these goals.

One of my main goals before graduation is to pass all my classes and and not end up having to take summer school. Although some of my grades for certain classes are not the best I think there is still a possibility for that. It would be the best thing ever if I could achieve this goal.

After graduation I’m going to BCC for homeland and security. My main goal when I’m attending BCC is to stay focused, no partying, and doing my best so I can then transfer to an even better 4 year college. I would love to be able to go to Cortland or BU.

Finally after college I want to be something a somebody. In order for that to happen I would have to do great in college and get a good job so I can afford living and paying my bills. I also want to have a family when I’m around the age of 27 to 30.

With life comes responsibilities and if your not responsible you wont be able to achieve yours goals. In order for me to achieve all my goals I need to keep a good head on my shoulders and be who I am and try my hardest. If I don’t I will become nothing and I don’t want that.

  6. Each person has goals, whether it is short term or long term. There are many ways in which someone can achieve these goals. If they stay to these goals they set for themselves, they will get very far in life. The life you have now will most likely affect the life you will have in the future.

My current grades could be better. I can tell I’m slacking in school and its affecting my grades. I am so sick of school, and I don’t care about my grades anymore. But I know I should care because it is affecting my GPA. And if I want to go to college, my grades need to be good.

I have many goals for the future. One of my short term goals is to get my grades into the 90’s. Now they are in the high 80’s, but it is affecting my GPA. . Another one of my goals is to get my HHA, or home health aide, certificate from BOCES. My grades are good at BOCES and I do well in lab and clinical, so I know I will achieve this goal. I also want to become a LPN and/or RN. Another long term goal is to get a good job, get married and start a family.

To achieve these goals, I will do my homework and pay attention in class. I will also have to get enough sleep at night and study for tests/quizzes. I will remind myself of these goals so it will keep me motivated. My friends and family can also help motivated me and remind me of the goals I have.

Many people have goals that they would like to achieve in their lifetime. In order to accomplish these goals, you need to be responsible and always remind yourself of the goals you have. I know if I am determined to achieve my goals, I will accomplish them.

  7. My current grades will defiantly help me with my long term goals. At the beginning of the school year I had three goals I wanted to accomplish they were graduating, getting my drivers license and get to 180 pounds.

Iv accomplished the goal of getting my drivers license and after I graduate I can start focusing more on longer term goals like getting a good job vehicle and a nice house. I’m not going to collage so the only way I will get what I want is buy hard work.

I had many goals when I played sports but then I got hurt and seen how fast every thing I worked so hard for just disappear. Now I lift a lot of weights and I have a lot of long term goals when it comes to that also. My goal is to live a healthy life and just be in great shape I want to still be lifting weights when I hit age 30.

Another long term goal is to have a wife and have a family iv learned that I don’t need any girls right now they are only distractions getting between me and my goals. I also want to open a gym or a boxing club to teach kids to box so I can feel ike I gave something back.

I will meet this goals I have or I will die trying. I know its not going to be easy but if I give up il get nothing out of life so I don’t plan on giving up.

  8. I cannot wait to graduate, I have many goals for after graution. Everyone should set goals in the beginning of every year. If you set goals and remind yourself daily you can accomplish anything you need. My main goal is to go to collage after high school.

Some long term goals are collage, and learning new ways to become a better worker. I would really like to be a social worker. Another long term goal is to buy my own house and do everything on my own I like to be independent.

My grades this year have been really good, I would like to change some grades. I am really going to try to get my English and Math grades up. I made honor roll last quater and next quater I would like to make High honor roll. I am going to do my work and try harder to get better grades. I am not letting anyone distract me this time.

Some short term goals would be to get a job and work hard. I would like to make my family proud, and when I get good grades I know everyone will belive I can make it. I would like to get my own place sometime soon and stay committed to my goals.

It takes a long time for people to accomplish their goals. Many people give up but if you want to accomplish them you have to stick to it and keep pushing yourselves. Some of these goals are going to be really hard to stick to but if it is really what you want you will do it. I will finish these goals and keep moving on.

  9. I have many goals in life. I will continue to strive to achieve these goals and make new goals. I have many plans for after high school. My current grades are good and if I continue to keep them where they are my goals will be met.
I try my best in school to keep my grades up. They help me to achieve my goals much easier. They are all in the 90’s and I am always on high honor roll or higher. The grades I have now could be a little higher. My goal is to graduate in the top three of my class. If I can do this then it will help me get more scholarships and better luck at getting into a college that I want to.
My goals for the future are to go to college. I plan on going to college. I don’t have a definite college I want to go to yet. My goal is to make as much money as I can and have fun doing it. Once I graduate from college I want to get a steady well-paying job. If my grades are where they are now then I will have no problem at getting into a college and meeting my future goals.
There are several things I am going to have to do to accomplish these goals. First off I need to keep my grades where they are and even make them higher. If I do well in college then I should have no problem finding a good job. I also need to not get into trouble and focus on my goals and not any of the distractions that will drop my grades.
My life goals will hopefully be met. Hard work and focus will ensure that I accomplish these life goals. I need to do well in the rest of high school and participate in as many extracurricular activities that I can. This will all help me to accomplish these tough goals.

  10. I honestly cannot wait to graduate from this freaking school! I need to get it done and over with already. My grades do need some improving though! I get very lazy and do not do my homework! I have many opinions and things to say about some things in this school, but I don't need to get into that!

One goal that I have after I graduate high school is to go to college. I have decided that if I go to college I will hopefully play football and major in nutrition. Becoming a nutritionist would help me out physically. College will be rough to get through but I know I can do it.

Another thing that I have in mind is going to the military. I have chosen the air force branch because that is what my father did and I get told it is one of the best branches to join. I would be more than happy to fight for the country.

I will accomplish my goals by continuing to go to school and do my homework. I have to stay focused if I go to college also. I will dedicate my life to whatever it is that I will be doing. If I go big in football and make it to the NFL I will help out many charities and family!

These goals can be extremely hard to meet up with if I do not try. I have to dedicate my self to these things so I can carry on with my life. I hope that I do make it to college though, that is a big thing for me!

  11. I have had many long term and short term goals over the years. As I got older the goals got bigger, as they should. There are many different goals a person can set whether it has to do with school, sports, work, etc. Everyone has goals in life even if they don’t realize it I am sure everyone has at least one goal that they achieve.

One of my goals was to graduate from high school, which isn’t even really a choice because no matter what my parents would have forced me to. As the time is getting closer and I am almost a senior I am beginning to think about life after high school and how it is going to be. I know that I want to go to college I am not sure where. I want to go away to college to get that full college kid experience.

After high school I want to go to college to become a nurse. After looking at different jobs I decided that being a nurse suited me the best. There are nursing jobs all over the world, at all times opening up because everyone needs medical assistance and there are always nurses retiring all over the place. Therefore wherever I decide to live after college it shouldn’t be very hard to find a job.

What will help me achieve these goals are doing well on the SAT’s to get into different colleges so I have wide selection of choices of which college, and to pass all of my regents. Being a nurse takes a lot of science credits so next year I will probably take at least one to help me out, as well as this year I am taking chemistry.

How I will achieve these goals to become successful in life, I will start studying for my regents very soon so that way when they come around I pass them all easily. I also took the PSAT’s to prepare for my SAT’s as well.

  12. All throughout school we have constantly been told to set goals for ourselves. Every person’s goals may vary considering what they want to accomplish. I have set both short and long term goals. I will be graduating in one year, so my time is limited to accomplish my short term goals as well as my long term.
I am currently a junior in high school. I have always been an honor student. Though there are points in the school year when I slack a little bit with keeping up with my work and my grades slip a bit. It is the beginning of the fourth quarter of the year. This gives me approximately ten weeks to keep my grades high. I plan on attending college after I graduate so my final grades of the quarter count. I am not doing a sport this time of year so I believe that it will be a little bit easier to stay on top and be successful with my goal to have good grades until the end of the year.
After graduation in June 2014 I plan on attending college to become a radiologist. This will require a minimum of four years of college. I don’t think that keeping my grades up will become an issue. I have always focused on school and I don’t think anything will change that. After I graduate college I will get a job and start the rest of my life with the love of my life and family.
My goals are not impossible nor easy to accomplish. It will take motivation and dedication to achieve them. In my opinion I will not struggle too badly with this. If things get tough I will be constantly reminding myself of how much it will be worth in the end.
Being in high school allows us to be kids. We take things for credit and mess around. But once we are out of high school and into the real world we are forced to grow up. Which includes major responsibilities. If you set a goal for yourself, you do whatever it takes to achieve it.

  13. I have many goals in life. I want to achieve these goals the best way that I can. My grades are good and I plan to keep them high. I will do many things to accomplish these goals in the future.

I try hard in school and do the best I can to have my grades high. My goal for every marking period is to get at least honor roll but higher than that is always nice. One of my biggest goals is to graduate and go to college. Keeping my grades up will allow me to have many options in the future.

My goals for the future are to go to college. I’m not sure where I’m going to college yet but I hope to go to a good college. I hope I pick a career that I’m going to enjoy and a job that I won’t dread going to every morning.

There are several ways as to how I am going to accomplish my goals. In order to go to a good college, I am going to need to keep my grades up and stay focused on school for a while. As long as I keep my grades up and get into a good college, I am sure I’ll find a good job that I will enjoy going to everyday. I just need to focus on my goals.

  14. Every has goals set for themselves weather they realize it or not. I personally have a number of goals set for myself for the next year of my life.
A major goal that i have set for myself is to do well in my remaining classes for the next ten weeks. Since I've made the decision to graduate and attend college a year early, it is vital that i pass all of my classes. I will also be attending summer school to finish my remaining credit that is needed, so i will be graduating in August.
The next goal that I have for myself is to be able to maintain a social life and not get myself so stressed over college that I dont want to go. I think I will be able to obtain this goal by making plans around summer classes that i must attend, and also learning better time management.
A final goal that I have set for myself is to not let stupid people get to me. Due to school, and college coming up, i don't have time to worry about what people say, think, or feel about me. I know that by doing this I am greatly bettering myself because I am not stooping to their level, it also allows me to be the person I want to be, which is nothing like the people in this town.
I'm possitive that within the next few months i will have more than just these goals to succeed at at. In a few years when i obtain all of my long term goals i will be proud to say that I didn't fall back into old habits and that I, Kaitlynn Michalsk, actually did something with my life!!

  15. Everyone has goals some are the same and some are very different. It is always good to have goals; it gives you something to look forward to and something to strive for. Some types of goals are long term and short term.

After I graduate I want to continue on with school. Some colleges I have looked at are Suny Oneonta, Cazenovia, Hartwick, and Cortland. All four of these have my profession at their school. Some goals for me after school are to get into a four year school. Graduate and find a job as a state trooper.

I think that my grades will help me achieve my goals. My grades are almost all 90’s and a few high 80’s. I try very hard to maintain my average and to stay on high honor roll or superior. This looks very good when colleges look at you. This also shows that you are not just an athlete you are smart to.

Some other things that will help me achieve my long term and short term goals would be athletics. For example I want to play college basketball. Playing four years on varsity and also playing aau basketball for four years looks very good. Also playing a variety of sports shows you know how to balance both school and sports. Other than athletics what I do outside of school is also important. I also do community service, such as helping the little kids at the basketball clinic.

Both my long term goals and short term goals are possible for me to achieve. Although I think I am able to achieve these I am still going to need work hard every day. Also keep on the right track and stay focused on these goals.

  16. Now that it is the end of my junior year of high school I have to consider a lot of things for my future. I have to think about whether or not I want to go to college and if so where do I want to go, do I want to go into the military, do I want to live at home or move away, and do I want a family in the near future? All of these questions need to be thought through very carefully because they all play a very important role in how the rest of my life will turn out.

I do want to go to college right after I graduate high school. My plans are tow go to Broome Community College for the first two years then transfer to Suny Delhi where I plan to major in culinary arts. With the grades I have now I’m not so sure I can get accepted to Suny Delhi. I wish I would have thought about this earlier in my high school career. All I can do now is from this point on work harder to get better grades and be the best I can be.

Of course my parents are going to have to help me pay my way through college with the help of student loans so I will have to have a job while I am in college tow pay off those loans. I hope that I will only be in college for four years but I won’t know if that’s what I really want until I reach that point in my life. I plan to work my butt off in college so that I pass with flying colors. Even though I want to go to college, joining the military has crossed my mind a few times. I have thought about going into the National Guard like my dad. That would pay my way through college and I would be serving my country.

After I graduate from college I want to eventually own my own restaurant or bakery. I haven’t exactly decided whether or not I want to open a restaurant or just a pastry shop. I have always loved to cook but more recently I have gotten into baking and decorating things. I have already taken some classes on decorating cakes. I want to focus more on my career before I settle down and have a family. I know that I would like to be about thirty before I try to settle down. I would like to see the world and travel to gain experience before I even think about kids or getting married.

In order to achieve any of these goals I should have thought about my grades way before this and worked a lot harder. I should have focused more on my long term and reachable goals before focusing on little things that weren’t going to help me in the long run. I do believe that have a lot of maturing to do before I am ready for any of my goals can be achieved. I will not only need better grades to achieve these goals but also the support of friends and family. I do believe that I have the drive for these goals but I need to focus more and worry less.

  17. Everyone as a goal in life. Some be long term some may be short. Goals are great to have to be successful in life.

One of my goals are to pass my Trigonometry regents the first time round. The reason i want this is because I will be the first Lester in history to pass it the first time! Right at this moment it is not looking so hot, but with the support of my friends family and most of my teachers I believe I can do this.

After I Graduate High School I would like to go to either to Oneonta , or Cortland college for Early Childhood Education and either double major or minor in Special Education. I hear they have really good programs there.

My Grade,I hope, with support me in my decision. I will work hard and try my best to keep my grade up and my average. Here at deposit they have the best teachers to help me! Some other things that will help me is my sports. My mom always " Sports always pushes her, if she is not in sports then we may be in trouble!"

In order to achieve these goals. I really need to push myself , because lately I haven't I have been slipping. I really need to focus, I need to get my head in game. If I now, in the end will help me out alot. I also need to study hard none stop!

You did a good job on your blog for this week. You have many good goals that you want to accomplish. If you push yourself hard enough, I know you will accomplish the goals. For each goal, you explained you reasoning well. Keep up the great work!

  18. Everybody has goals in life. Whether they come true or not, is basically up to them. I believe that if you want something so bad, and you really put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything.
I’ve had one specific goal for myself since I was eight years old. My dream was to move to Arizona, become a neonatal nurse in ASU, and hopefully move somewhere back out here. Until, I grew up and realized even though New York is a ridiculous state, it does have the best education, so it’d be smarter to get a degree out here, also learning all the expenses of going to an out of state college and moving out there in general, made me have to make a really tough decision about going out or not,
I have 3 more months left of being a senior, and I’ve finally figured out what I’m really going to do with my life. My plans have changed drastically. I’m still thinking about what exactly I want to do and where I want to go. So I’m taking a year in a community college to complete the courses that I need to become a nurse, since I didn’t take them in high school and hopefully I make up my mind within a year so I can achieve my goals.
My current grades are pretty good. I only take 2 classes in Deposit, which consists of English and Physical Education and an elective; Foods 2. And then I go to BOCES, so other than BOCES, there’s not much I have to keep up with. The main thing that messes me up with my grades, is my transcript. In 9th and 10th gradei didn’t really care much about school or tests, and I definitely regret it now. Teachers warned me how important it was to keep those grades up because of college and I really didn’t believe them, but now I do.
If I achieved more earlier in school and earlier in the year, I’d be doing what I’ve wanted to do next year, but now I’m confused and not sure. Minds change in what seems of a blink of an eye and it’s not very convenient. I hope I can make up my mind within the next year or so so I’m not 30 years old when I figure out what I really want in life.

    1. Everybody has goals. Some of them are long term and short term goals. I like to follow long term goals but in reality it actually goes faster than you think it does. It seems that time flies by so quick.

I set my goals by working in the summer. I work long hours with the people that I work for. I want to get my grades up so that way I can work and so that way I don’t have to go to summer school and retake the classes that I failed over again.

My grades can be much higher than what they really are. I want to get grades that are 80 and above so that way me and my parents are happy with them. I will be really happy if they do come up to where I want them.

After school I don’t think I will go to college because I don’t think I have that good of grades. If I do get good grades until the end of school then I can think about going to college. Next year if I can get really good grades from September to June then I can attempt college, but I don’t think I’m going.

If I do make it I will go for Wildlife and Fisheries at Cobleskill College. I think Cobleskill is a 2 or a 4 year school.

  19. Goals? Everyone in their live has them. We set goals to give ourselves motivation to complete them. Whether we have a good or bad our work ethic is determines if we complete our goal or not and it also effects the quality of our work. I think it is best to achieve short and long term goals. We have to think about both because they affect each other in many different ways, for example if you don’t graduate high school that will affect you in the long run.

My goal in life is to become an architectural project manager. I also want to server as a volunteer firefighter and police officer in my spare time or later years of my life. After I gain enough money I want to settle down in Canada and build my own mansion. I also want to get married, have a kid or two, and settle down and have a “peaceful” life. My current goals in life right now or to get my grades up. I have inspiration to do this because I will be the only Bevis in my biological dad’s side of the family to graduate high school; both my father and brother were drop-outs.

My current grades will help me in the future because they will help me find a job and help me move up the economic chain. I will admit I am more than capable of achieving better grades than I have now. I’m definitely going to try and improve them.

My good work ethic will also help me achieve these goals. I also get along with many of the people I meet in my life and I am what you call a “social person”. I am a hard working when things get serious.

I think I have around an equal amount of short term goals as well as long term goals. I do plan on going to college after high school. I am going to try my hardest to complete all of my goals that I have set for myself

    2. Bevis, you did a great job on writing this. Getting high grades is a good goal and will help you all through out life. Also I like the part where you want to move to Canada and build your own house, being an architect along with your high work ethic will help you do this. Do good job.

  20. My plans following graduation is to go to a good college and play field hockey. I want to go to college and major in sports management. I am excited to graduate and get the college experience.

One of my goals is to continue to doing well in school and strive to do better. I want to leave this placing knowing that I did my best to get to where I am. The SAT’s are what I’m really hoping I do well on. Getting a good score more or less a high score would make me happy.

Another goal, I have to be successful in my college education. I want to major in sports management, sports are my life. I have always wanted to go to California. I figured it wouldn’t be easy to find a job in sports management in New York, so I planned on moving west after college and hope for the best.

I need to keep working hard at field hockey if I want to play at a decent college. It’s not going to be easy, but if I work hard I'm hoping it will pay off. I am on a travel team that went to Florida to be scouted and my team was ranked 14th out of the country and 2nd in the state. I feel honored and willing to work hard to achieve my goal for playing field hockey at the varsity level in college.

Right now high school seems silly and no one cares, but in reality, you should work hard and focus. What you do now can affect what your future will be like later on. If you want to be successful, you need to work hard.

  22. Goals are an essential part of life. Without them there will be no type of motivation for people to do something with their lives. Almost everyone in the world has some type of goal, whether it is a long-term or a short-term goal. As for myself, one of my long term goals is to become a registered nurse.

Following graduation I will have my certification for a nurses aide. Being a nurses aide I’ll be able to work in the medical field and gain experience. It’ll make it easier when i begin to attend college in the following fall of graduation. Since I’ll start off as a nurses aide right out of high school I’ll only have to attend college for two years minimal to be a registered nurse.

My current grades are probably not the best. I know theres some type of improvement that will need to be made with them. I could probably stop procrastinating.when it comes to big reports and other types of projects. Making school and work a bigger priority than being with friends and other things like sleeping and going out would probably also help me raise my grades up. Overall my grades are good.

To achieve the goals that I have there are many things I could probably do. One thing I could do is focus more on school and projects due. I could do this by better prioritizing my time and becoming more organized. Another thing I can do is start saving money for college. By achieving this I would have to stop spending my money and paychecks on silly things and actually start my own bank account so I can start putting money aside.

Everyone has some type of goals in their lives. For me, my goal is to attend college and become a registered nurse. I will do this by changing the ways I do work and spend my time. Organization and prioritizing are two things I could start working on to help me reach these goals. Two things I could stop doing is procrastinating and spending all my money on useless things. There are many more things I could do to reach these goals but for now it’s just baby steps.

  23. Our lives begin soon, so it's a good time to set goals. Graduation is about a year away, so there are some short term goals that I can accomplish by then. A good way to achieve both my long term and short term goals have a lot to do with my grades.

My goals for after graduation are to attend a college. I'm not sure what I want to go for at the moment, but I'm contemplating going for dance. To achieve this two short term goals that I'll have to successfully accomplish would be to get higher grades and to work even harder at dance.

My current grates aren't bad, but I can do better. I know that if I work harder my grades would be higher and it'll help me get into the college that I'll want to go to. I need to keep myself motivated to do my school work, spend more time on school work, and always work my hardest. I will also study more before tests and quizzes.

Part of possibly going to college for dance means I have to work really hard in dance as well as working on my grades. This means working my hardest in class and working at home a lot.

Other than those goals a long term goal I have to to just be happy and know that I did my best to achieve the things I wanted in life. I know I can achieve these goals through hard work and determination. So I am going to work hard and do my best so I am able to achieve my goals.

  24. Everyone has to have goals in life, both short term and long term. Some people have goals that are unachievable. Honestly I am not sure exactly what I want to do for the rest of my life. Once I graduate I plan to move to Florida and stay with family down there until I get a job and get up on my feet. I am not quite sure whether I want to go to college or just go out into the work force. In today’s society it is hard to just come out of high school and go into the work force and that is the only reason I am contradicting going to college or just trying to start my life.

My grades in school right now are not so good I’m not going to lie. As of right now I am failing two classes but all of my other classes I have very good grades in. I really need to start buckling down because I plan to graduate in January next year just to get out of here a little early. By the way my grades are right now that path is not looking too promising. I am really going to start doing my work and then I have the summer to do whatever I want. I know I can’t blame my failing grades on anyone other than myself but to be honest I put way too much on my own shoulders. As of right now I am taking nine classes and I honestly and very surprised that I have done as good as I have been doing. Hopefully I will get my head on straight soon and start thinking about my future so I can become something one day and show people that just because you come from a small town doesn’t mean that you can’t amount to anything in life.

If it were not for my family I would not be the person I am today. My father has made a big impact on the way I think and the things I do. My dad is the person that always pushes me to do my best in school and he is always very hard on me and always has been. I am finally starting to realize that the only reason he is so hard on me is not to piss me off but it is to make me a better person and prepare me for the real world. My dad always wants what is best for me and sometimes I get frustrated because he doesn’t understand what it is like to be a kid in today’s society. It is pretty amazing to see how much school has changed when my dad is a math wiz and he can’t even help me with math homework. I definitely have to say that my dad will be the one person that helps me make something of myself and help me become something in the world. I am without a doubt going to start buckling down and preparing for the real world so when it tries to knock me down I can get back up, laugh, and say it is going to take more than that to knock me down and keep me there, good try though!
