Please read the following quote and tell us what you think about it. I need you to explain the quote and tell us whether you agree or disagree with it and why. I'll need to see at least 250 words for this one, so be sure to give a lot of detail.

ReplyDeleteThis quote means to me that if you have an open mind and believe in your self and have hope then you can achieve anything you set your mind to. If you are willing to put 100 percent into something and don’t give up, chances are that you will get something good out of it. You should always have an open mind and never give up, because if you do give up you will get nothing out of it and quitters never win.
I agree with this quote, I think this quote is very inspiring and true. No matter how hard the task is, you can set goals or try other methods to help you get through something. You could also get a friend or a find a leader to help you out with it. The harder you try the better the results will be so just keep that in mind also when trying to achieve something.
“Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.” I think this quote goes hand in hand with the quote above in certain ways. I think this quote is very motivational and inspiring and so is the other one above. It shows that you can always be kind and everything is always possible if you are willing to make it possible. Being kind is a choice as so are many other things in life and its your choice to make your life how you want it.

DeleteI'm glad that Summer posted (and I'll help you fix this), but it's not an adequate response to a peer. I tried to respond to each of your posts in a way that modeled what I'm looking for. You need to carefully read and respond to someone in a way that is meaningful, somehow referring to what they've said. I think Summer did a good job of boosting up Kaitlyn, but more detail like, "I like what you said about ______________ very much, I feel the same way in that situation" would take this from a not great grade to a pretty good one.. the more you write in response, the better your grade will be. ReplyDeleteI believe that this quote is very true. If you put your mind to something you can achieve your inter goal. It’s also saying if you put your mind to something 100 percent that you should have no problem reaching your goal unless you try it.

I thing that Jeesie Jackson was very convincing when he came up with this quote. I really don’t know what else to say about but it’s a good quote. There is a lot of things that this quote describes and I would love to tell you guys all of them but there not on the top of my head. I guess my new goal could be to think more often and use this quote to my own advantage.

DeleteDan is right with the quote "If you set your mind to something you can achieve it", then you dont want to do other things and not having your mind get on another path, like when you're thinking of something don't let yourself double guess yourself just think of what it was that you were going to say. I like how you explained that if you need help then just ask for somebody to help you like an adult.

The quote, "If my mind can conceive it and my heart can believe it, I know I can achieve it.", by Jesse Jackson is very meaningful to me. It can mean many different things. Each person can think it means something different.
ReplyDeleteI personally think that it means that you can do anything if you believe in yourself. For example, if I want to become a pro motocross rider really bad and I believe in myself, then I will accomplish that. If you do something very well the only way that you will enjoy it is if you desire it. If you want to do something with all your heart then you almost always will love that thing no matter what. In order to get there however you must believe in yourself to be able to achieve this goal.
A good example of this would be a lifelong career. If you don’t push yourself and believe in yourself to become something that you really love then you will most likely end up with a job that you dislike. If you do put your heart and mind into becoming something great then it can be done. It will take a lot of work but if you believe then it will happen. You will then have a career that you love doing which will make the rest of your life easier and more enjoyable.
The quote by Jesse Jackson is very inspirational. It is very true and if you put your heart and mind one hundred percent into it then anything can be done. This quote can push someone even harder to become what I enjoy and desire the most

This quote may be interpreted in many ways, meaning different things for different people. That’s the key thing about people, everyone wants something different from one another. We set goals in hopes to achieve them. In order to achieve our goals we have to put in some sort of effort, want, and we have to believe that we can do it.
Sometimes we may get things mixed up. For example; we think we need support from other individuals to achieve our goals.. This quote is saying that you don’t need anyone else to believe that you can do it but yourself.
I agree one-hundred percent with this quote. It says the truth plain and simple. Think about what the quote is really saying. YOU set a goal for what reason? Because it’s something that YOU want. That means it’s about yourself. So if setting a goal is for yourself it shouldn’t matter if someone else thinks you can do it or not. Since it’s about yourself as long as you believe you can, you will.
“Faith is believing in something when society tells you not to.” Jesse Jackson’s quote and this one have the same meanings, you believe in something because it comes from your heart and it’s about what you want. Both quotes are very motivational and truthful. Life is what you make it, so make it what you want.

I agree that you set a goal because it's something you want and that no matter what tries to get in your way, you should strive your best to accomplish what you want in life. ReplyDeleteIn my own opinion this quote means that not only does your mind have to be set on something but you have to believe that you can achieve it as well. If you give one hundred percent to something then you can achieve anything. If you set your sights on something and give it your all then you will go far in life along with being much more happy in life. If you give up and don’t believe that you can achieve goals then you will go nowhere in life and won’t be happy with yourself.
I completely agree with this quote. More people should read and try to understand this quote. If people were to live by this quote then I feel like more people would be happy and less drama would occur. People would know what they want and wouldn’t have to worry about giving up or settling for second best. I am really encouraged to live my life by this quote now.
“Don't be afraid of your fears. They're not there to scare you. They're there to let you know that something is worth it.” In my opinion this quote kind of goes along with the other quote. Sometimes people don’t go after something because they are afraid of failure. If people were to set goals for themselves no matter how scary they might seem and actually follow al the way through until they accomplish that goal life would be a lot more enjoyable.

ReplyDeleteIn my own opinion he means that if you try really hard for something and believe it to be able to come true then it will and all you have to do is apply yourself and make your dreams a reality, and if you do so then you’ll get what you want in the end. To me this quote applies to football if as a team you want something bad enough and are ready to give it all you’ve got and try your best then that makes you a good football team and the more people you have with this mentality the better team you’ll have and we have a lot of those types of people on our team and some who are now off the team. This quote applies to everything not just sports or being a member of a team but to life in general if in life you give it your all and make dreams come true you’ll most likely love the life you live compared to hating every minute of it. I personally like this quote it’s a universally motivational quote and can apply to just about any person like drug addicts, fat people or anyone who is in a hard place in there life’s. I know how it is to be in a hard place and I know a lot of people who are also in hard places and if I like the quote then maybe other people will.

ReplyDeleteIn my own opinion this quote means if you set you’re heart on something, and you really want it, you can achieve it. This means you have to be willing to go through and obstacle to achieve it. A good example of this would be the Deposit’s football team. They had set there mind on achieving a sectional title. They started out good but then the team fell apart, thanks to our lovely athletic director. Even after all is said and done if they work hard enough, fix there mistakes, they can still achieve every goal they had set. This also goes to childhood obesity. If you’re heart can conceive that you want to loose weight, you can achieve it. I set many goals for myself during deer season. Every year I set a goal to get a bigger buck than the year before. If I take all the time I can, sit in the woods, be patient, the time will come. An example of this would be last year during turkey season. I have been hunting turkey for about 7 years and I hadn’t shot one right up until last year. Most people would want to suit after hunting for seven years and not shooting a thing. But I knew if I kept trying to achieve this goal I would accomplish it. As of last May, I achieved it. This quote is a very good quote. It is kind of like a motivator.

In my opinion, this quote means that if you want something bad enough, you must strive the best you can to accomplish it. Even though you may cross some difficulties along the way, nothing will stop you from reaching your goal to get there.
I think this quote is very inspiring. I can relate to this quote very much myself. When I first read it, I thought of my dream to go to Arizona and become a nurse. I’ve always wanted to live in Arizona, ever since I was about eight years old, and in just a couple months I’ll be making my dream come true. A lot of people have told me how difficult it may be moving away from home so far away, or how difficult a Nursing career maybe. I’ve been through a lot to make it come true and I’m sure there’ll be more obstacles that I’ll face in the future but I’ve been so determined on achieving this goal, I will make sure it happens.
“Don’t follow your dreams; chase after them” I don’t exactly remember how I came across this quote, but when I saw it, it only made me more determined to go after my dreams. I believe that both these quotes are similar in a way, only because they both remind me that no matter what comes in your way, if you want something bad enough you must chase after it. I think both these quotes are very inspiring and true and I think that everyone needs to strive for exactly what they want in life, otherwise you might regret it.

Football is my life, sometimes i catch myself talking to myself “go go his at the 20 the 15 the 10 5 touchdown”. I love this sport I think its funny how a simple sport can make you so happy and make you think about it all-day. It makes me mad when people say you will never go to college or get into a descent one around here because this place is the middle of no where and we have no recruiters that would watch us. ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, this quote means that in order for you to achieve something you want to do, you need to put your mind AND heart into it. You need to give one hundred percent to everything that you do in life in order for you to accomplish them. You should never give up on something you set your sights on doing. No matter what obstacles get in your way of achieving that goal, you can get through those obstacles and get to goal if you put your mind and heart into it.
I completely agree with this quote. If everyone on the earth lived by this quote, people wouldn’t be so grumpy and unhappy with the way their lives are now. If people wouldn’t give up on their goals and dreams and put one hundred percent into all that they do, they will get very far in life. For example, if someone wants to be a doctor and that is their goal, they will have to go to school for a long time after high school in order to achieve that goal. But after all the blood, sweat, and tears, their goal will be reached and they will have their dream career.
I think another quote that is similar to this quote is “Don’t tell me the sky’s the limit when there’s footprint on the moon.” If you have a goal that you want really bad, you will achieve it if you put your mind and heart into it, even if it means putting the extra mile into it. These quotes are very inspirational that each and every person can interpret in their own way and apply them in their lives.

ReplyDeleteI think that this quote is trying to tell us that if you try hard enough, you can accomplish your goals. If you take your mind of your goal, all you’re going to see is obstacles. If you can complete your first goal then you’re going to be happier with yourself and you are going to keep setting goals for yourself. If you fail your first goal however, you are going to feel bad about yourself and it is going to be even harder for you to set your next goal, because you are afraid you are going to fail it.
I totally agree with this quote. I agree with this quote because I think that if less people quit, then their lives and the lives around them would be better. I also agree with this quote because I think that if you never quit, then you will have no regrets. The fact that this quote alone means to never give up is just purely inspirational. I purely think that more people should live by this quote.

I say that it is similar because the both express the fact of pure determination and never giving up. The full speech is on the internet, I only used a small portion of the speech that I felt most similar to the quote given. This is the speech that means the most to me, but that’s just my opinion.

This quote is very good do to the fact that if you really want to do something you will work hard to achieve this goal. If you look at all the players that when professional athletes they all started setting goals to be able to reach them they all set their minds to it the all wanted to reach that goal they set many years ago. Most of the athletes train most of their lives but most of them the sport just comes natural. Dan, very well said buddy. I also feel the same way on the fact that in order to do things you have to set goals. I liked how you used sports as an example because it is very true that all professional sports players have had to set goals and that things dont just get handed to people. ReplyDeleteThis quote is about doing what you put your mind to. Such as I want to play college basketball, this is a huge goal for me and number one on my list. To do this I always have to be working on my game and being one step ahead of the competion. If I believe I can do it and work my butt off it will happen because I control the outcome. The quote also has to do with having heart and desire in what you are trying to succeed at. You have to give everything, put it all on the line to become great and acheive greatness. Its not thinking you can acheive somthing its knowing that you can and putting those word into actions and acting on it.
Another great example is persuing the career you want. When you think of this career you think of your future. You think of what your good at or what you love to do, go make it happen! control the outcome of your future by beleiving in yourself and achieving.

What Jesse Jackson is saying in his quote, is that if your put your heart and mind into something then you will achieve it. You have to put your all 110% into everything that you believe in. If your mind is telling you to do something amazing and your heart tells you that you really feel for it and want to accomplish something then put the two together and achieve anything.
You can’t give up on something if it isn’t working out. If anything it should help you motivate yourself to become better. I agree with Jesse Jackson’s quote very much. His quote can inspire anyone even if it is for school, sports, band or anything. For me it would be more for sports. If my mind is saying that I can do something within the sport, then I’m going to have to put my heart and all into it and eventually achieve what I had stride for.
Achieving things is never easy. Things are not just given to you out of free will; you have to work hard at it. Working hard means dedication. Your mind and heart will tell you that you really want to achieve a goal that you want and hopefully you will succeed. Sure it may take some work and won’t work within the next couple days like I’m sure everyone would like. In the end, putting your open mind and heart into it and you succeed, it will be a great feeling.

ReplyDeleteThis quote is a quote that most people should live their life by. This quote is basically saying that nothing is impossible. If you can dream of it and you can believe in it then you can do it. Most people like to give up in life and believe that they can’t do certain things, but in all actuality if you put your mind to something then there be no way that you can fail. What would this world be like if god just decided to stop creating mankind while he was half way through with it? What would this world be like if everything was half ass because people believed that they couldn’t do something so they gave up half way through it? My point is that if everyone in the world gave up on things because they were too hard and “impossible” then the world would not be the same. If you push yourself to the limits then nothing is impossible and you can achieve anything that you set your heart towards but if you just give up then you will never get anything in life. If everything in life was easy then life would be a breeze and everyone would be treated equal but let’s just face it nothing in life is easy and nobody is treated equal. I think he meant that motivation comes from your heart and that if you want something bad enough you will be able to achieve it. I do agree with this quote by Jesse Jackson. If you want something bad enough it will motivate you to get it, whether if it’s a goal in sports, a goal to get better grades, or even a goal to save up some money. Sometimes reaching those goals won’t be easy, but eventually, if you don’t give up you will finally reach those goals. I think he was trying to say don’t give up one something because if you work hard enough you can get it. I think there are many people who have lived by this quote in life and it has worked out for them. If you look at some celebrities, they were not always as successful as they are now. They had to work hard and never give up to get where they are. Sometimes it’s just easier to give up and forget about it, but I does feel so much better when you have to work really hard for something. Once you finally reach your goal if will feel good knowing that all your hard work paid off. So never give up on something that you really want, because if you really want it and you continue to work at you can be successful.

The Quote" if my mind can conceive it and my heart can believe it, I know i can achieve it" by Jesse Jackson , is a great quote that says it all about goals and achieving them. If you have a set goal and and you have the drive, dedication and ambition you can achieve that goal. There are many things in the world that we live in prove the quote. I was very very surprised to see this quote because a few days ago i was talking to my brother and referred to a theory similar to the quote. I really do apreciate the quote because this is one of those quotes that would be a good way to live your life. If you have the mindset and drive to do whatever you want to do , you may not always achieve the goal but you would never look back and think that there was something you could have done about something, or knowing you could have done something great. In my eyes all people should live by this quote or accept the message the powerful quote by Jesse Jackson brings to its audience!

The quote is a motivational quote that is saying that as long as you believe in your self you can achieve any thing you want in life. The quote could be used for drug attics if your mind can conceive that you want to be sober and you believe in your self you can get clean than you can achieve the goal of being clean. If your fat and need to loose weight all you need is in your mind that you’re going to get skinny and try hard and loose weight than you just need the heart to work hard at what you want your body to look like. There was a 11 hundred pound lady that rolled out of bed on top of her nephew and killed him. I think that lady needs to read this quote because she needs to loose some weight. Athletes shout live by this quote because it the only way to ever get to the top. Boxing and wrestling are great examples because your mind is the biggest imact on how well you do at sports and if you don’t have any heart your wasting your time. Bodie builders say quotes like thais all the time because bodie building is a job that is baised on your mind and your heart because if you don’t go 1005 all day long you don’t get your results you want.Cole Griswold

You need confidence in yourself, in anything you do if you don’t have confidence you can’t do anything you will mess up. You need to put one hundred percent with in all that you do or u will just fail at life.

You all always need to push yourself in all that you do as well, if you don’t push yourself you will never get anywhere in life. In order to get places in life you also need support, like from your friends and family, with out them you get no where in life.
Never, ever give up, if you give up how are you going to achieve your goal? if you really want something you with do anything to get it. For example my Volleyball team, we push each other everyday , because we push each other we become stronger as a team so strong we are a family. During games we fight as a team for our coach, Dana Campo, there are some teams she as never beat In the years she as severed as a coach. So we tell each other that we do it for Mrs. Campo, and ever time we say that we come together as a team and win.

ReplyDeleteI believe this quote is extremely motivational, and can inspire people to put their minds on a goal and try to accomplish it. If you want something bad enough you have to put your heart into it and go one hundred percent to achieve the goal you set for yourself. Anyone can be what they want or do what they want as long as they try hard enough and push themselves to their limits to get the education, physical shape, or help they need to meet their goals needs.
Sports and School isn’t all about being extremely big or a genius it is having the desire, the heart, and the focus on all of your assignments to accomplish the tasks ahead of you to live a successful and fun life.

I consider this quote to be very similar to the quote by Jesse Jackson, because they are both motivational and inspirational. They both imply that if you have the heart, focus, and desire for something. Meaning you can achieve or do anything you want to in life to have and live a fun enjoyable life. So if you want to be an amazing athlete you have to put the time in your workouts everyday, and you have to do it one hundred percent every time it can’t just be half your effort, or you will never get to the goal you set for yourself.
Clearly Jesse Jackson wrote this quote to inspire people to reach their goals in life.

If you set a goal and your mind and you heart conceive or believe something your will be able to achieve anything.

If you really think bout it and you have the heart to do it then you can accomplish a lot. This quote is pretty much saying if you have the goal set your heart and mind and you can reach your goal. This year for deer season my goal is getting first buck. I hope it’s with my 30-30 I bought last year or my bow. I have yet to kill anything with my bow or 30-30. I think I can reach this goal if I put the time and effort into the goal. My other goal is to get a better truck then I have. My truck that I have is not in the best condition. I would like to trade it for a lifted up truck that is 5 speed manual. Sine I was a kid I always want a lifted up truck. I had many chances of trading for a lifted truck but the trucks need more work then the truck I have now.\

ReplyDeleteI think this quote is very motivational. Its main purpose is to let people know that they can do whatever they put their mind to. This quote allows you to put your mind into something and achieve it with everything you’ve got. It’s about being confident and letting yourself believe you could do anything you wish with hard work and confidence. In order to achieve something you have to have an open heart and mind, you need to be able to face the consequences of certain choices you make.
“When someone tells me "no," it doesn't mean I can't do it, it simply means I can't do it with them.” I found this quote very motivational as well. It makes me think of the saying, tell me I can’t and I’ll show you I will. People always think they need to impress everyone in order to “fit in” but it’s not like that. The more of an independent you are, the more noticed you are. Everything you do you should do it for yourself, it’s always nice to think of others but it’s better to do what makes you happy. You can do anything you put yourself to do. Never say you can’t do something, give it your all, stay positive, and you’ll go far.
Now a days, people have so many goals and things they want to accomplish, a lot of these things are possible, as long as you believe you will achieve and no matter what anyone says, you can do anything with someone, all you need is yourself to stay confident and always positive.

Nicely done, Natalia. Sometimes "No" is because whatever people are asking to do isn't in their best interest; it may be unsafe or a waste of resources or something along those lines. I'm pretty sure though, that you were talking about the no you get when you're deciding to do something that you think is going to be good for you and not harmful to anyone else and they're refusing to join you. I'm with you on the need to become independent and grow in positive ways, no matter what others may think. Thanks!

The quote above could also mean that if you are set on something then try to achieve it. If you can’t achieve it than keep trying until you succeed. Say for example you want to win the field hockey game and your mind and heart are set to the game then you have a 100% chance of achieving that goal.
The quote is also used for motivation and it encourages you to put your mind and heart to it in order to achieve it. It also tells you to use your imagination. The quote also says that you can do anything you want if you just believe and you can achieve it.
The quote also means that there are a lot of things in life that you have to achieve so you have to put your mind and heart to them in order to achieve them. Another example is if you want to graduate from school you have to put your mind to the homework and the rest of your work and you also have to make sure that you get good grades and pass all the regents at the end of the year. That is how you are going to achieve at life.

I need to see more than the very general responses you made. For example, the response I wrote to Rachel was, "I really like your take on this quote, Rachel, and the one you added in as well. I'd never heard that one, but, as I pointed out to Marcus, I'm not one for limits myself, so I can appreciate others who take a risk and push a little harder. I agree with you when you say that people can look at quotes like these and , "... interpret in their own way and apply them in their lives."

Destiny to me is living day today and face all encounters bad and good and live life in a good mindset or a bad mindset also has effect on destiny . I believe that your destiny is also decided by what you like, what your goals are, and how you live your life . Every last person in the world has a different destiny in life not every single persons lives are going to be the same, they can be similar but they will not be the exact thing
